The Challenge -
A seamless and immediate change over

Three long standing partners in a high profile law firm planned to break away to form the new law firm, Chang, Pistilli & Simmons. In doing so, they would take their staff.

Everyone involved in the new business, including lawyers and support staff, would leave the existing firm on Friday 30th June 2006 and commence working at the new firm on 1st July 2006. They would take with them their clients, including current transactions.

Because the large new firm from day one would be involved in some of the larger transactions in the market, it was imperative that there be a seamless and immediate transition for existing clients. So all communication services including landlines, mobiles, data, email and mobile mail had to be operational from day one.

In practice, that meant computers and phone extensions had to be hooked up, along with mobile data, phone and email options for half the staff. The firm also required the capacity to expand quickly.

While Chang, Pistilli & Simmons had access to their new premises prior to the firm’s launch, installation of the phone, data lines and the PABX could not be completed until the extensive physical fit-out was completed.

Because email has become the primary and one of the most important communication methods, it was vital that Chang, Pistilli & Simmons have redundant data systems. The Full Circle Group liaised with Chang, Pistilli & Simmons’s IT manager to ensure a high level of redundancy was achieved.

“Electronic communications are critical. Redundancy is not expensive, and may well turn out to be more expensive to proceed with out it. Basically, if our main data line goes down, the system will automatically switch to the redundant line so internet and email continues as normal.”
